On July 8, during a working visit to the Sughd region, Tajikistan's Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Daler Juma, visited the Sughd-500 500 kV substation. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the visit, issues of expanding the substation and constructing a 500 kV power transmission line from the Sughd-500 substation to the New Syrdarya substation in Uzbekistan were discussed.
The work is planned within the framework of the project “Reconnection to the Unified Energy System of Central Asia”.
Daler Juma emphasized the important role of the Sughd-500 substation in providing electricity to economic sectors and social facilities in the Sughd region.


The Minister also noted the importance of the energy facility for the development of regional cooperation, including within the framework of the CASA-1000 project and the Unified Energy System of Central Asia.
Following the visit, Daler Juma gave the responsible officials specific instructions to ensure the stable and reliable operation of the substation.
In addition, the instructions concerned high-quality maintenance of equipment and the timely completion of planned work.
