Tajik chess player Jaloliddin Ilkhomi won the bronze medal at the Central and North Asian Chess Championship, which took place from July 1 to 8, 2026, in the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the press service of the Tajikistan Chess Federation.
The competition was attended by the strongest juniors aged 8 to 20 from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the Russian Federation.
Following the championship, member of the Olympic team of the Republic of Tajikistan, International Master Jaloliddin Ilkhomi won a bronze medal in the blitz discipline among juniors under 20 years old.
In the main discipline "standard", representatives of the youth team of Tajikistan also demonstrated their results in various age categories.
In the under 10 category, Murodali Saifiyev scored 5 points, Dovud Rahimzoda – 5.5 points, Akhmad Saidakramzoda – 4.5 points, Akhmad Shamsov – 4.5 points, and Saidikrom Ikromov – 1.5 points.
Among chess players under 12, Firuz Isaev scored 3.5 points.
In the under-14 age category, Nazar Gafurov finished the competition with 4 points, and Iskandar Shorakhmatov scored 3.5 points.
Jaloliddin Ilkhomi scored 5 points in the under-20 category.
Among girls, Nozanin Makhmudova scored 5 points in the under-16 category, and Nukrabonu Kodiri scored 2 points in the under-20 category.
