Preliminary ore reserves at the Gaut vanadium deposit in Tajikistan amount to over 1.38 million tons, according to the republic's Main Geology Department, based on the results of exploration for the first half of 2026.
According to the agency, as a result of geological exploration work at the site, three ore bodies were identified: Northern, Central, and Southern.
The average thickness of the Northern orebody is 44 meters and its length is 140 meters. The Central orebody has an average thickness of 26.5 meters and extends from 68 to 126 meters. The average thickness of the Southern orebody reaches 72.33 meters and its length is 135 meters.
Furthermore, geologists identified two new apophyses. The first is 74 meters long and 11 meters thick, while the second is 109 meters long and 5 meters thick.
The average vanadium pentoxide content in the identified ore bodies varies from 0.18% to 0.376%.
According to preliminary estimates, the total ore reserves of the three ore bodies amount to 1 million 383.48 thousand tons with an average vanadium pentoxide content of 0.32%.
The Main Directorate of Geology notes that the obtained results indicate the potential of the Gaut vanadium occurrence.
In 2026, preparatory work for drilling will continue at the site.
