On June 23, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mayor of Dushanbe Rustami Emomali attended the opening ceremony of the Technical Center of the Tajik Football Federation in the Varzob district. This was reported by the presidential press service.

The new complex was created to create modern conditions for the development of football in the republic. The center is designed to train football players, coaches, referees, and relevant specialists, as well as to develop youth, junior, and women's football, support professional teams, and promote a healthy lifestyle.
The complex covers an area of 62,000 square meters. Its infrastructure includes the main administrative building and two training football pitches—one with natural and one with artificial turf. The grounds are divided into sports and administrative areas.

The sports section of the complex includes football fields, a stadium, a tennis court, and a gymnastics area. The administrative and amenity area includes the main building, a sports arena, an indoor swimming pool, a running track, and a security checkpoint.
The basement of the main building houses a modern fitness center with all the necessary equipment and auxiliary facilities. The first floor houses a restaurant and café with outdoor terraces for athletes, guests, and tourists.
A hotel infrastructure has also been created here. Visitors will find a spacious foyer, a reception area, offices, restrooms, and modern elevators. Guests will find single, double, and suite rooms, including rooms with spacious balconies. All rooms are equipped with all necessary amenities.
In addition, the center has modern conference halls and facilities for meetings, business meetings and various events.
The Tajikistan Football Federation Technical Center was built with technical and financial support from the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA), the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and domestic partners. The facility has created 50 permanent jobs.
Authorities note that the construction of the complex is aimed at further developing sports and football in the country and is a continuation of the state policy of creating a modern sports infrastructure.

The statement also emphasized that the Football Federation of Tajikistan became a member of FIFA and the AFC in 1994 after the country gained independence.
According to the press service, between 2012 and 2022, with the continued support of the President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, Rustami Emomali, national football entered a new stage of development. The country intensified the construction of football fields and stadiums that meet international standards, created new leagues, expanded training for specialists, and placed special emphasis on the development of women's football.
With the participation of FIFA and AFC experts, educational courses were organized for representatives of the football industry, and Tajik clubs improved their positions in the rankings of international football organizations.
To implement Tajik President Emomali Rahmon's sporting initiatives, the television channels "Varzish" and "Football" were created. Furthermore, at the initiative of Rustami Emomali, the official website of the Football Federation of Tajikistan was launched. These steps have contributed to strengthening cooperation with the media and expanding coverage of Tajik football achievements.
Particular attention has been paid to the development of youth football. In recent years, specialized leagues, football schools, and academies have been established.
As a result of development programs, Tajikistan's U19 team reached the quarterfinals of the Asian Championship in 2016 and 2018. The country's U17 team won silver at the 2018 continental championship, qualifying for the 2019 World Cup.
The national team's achievements also include victory at the 2022 King's Cup international tournament in Thailand, where the Tajikistan team defeated Trinidad and Tobago and Malaysia to win the competition's main trophy.
The press service recalled that, at the suggestion of the President of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) and the President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, Rustami Emomali, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution on May 7, 2024, establishing World Football Day, which is celebrated annually on May 25.
According to the authorities, this initiative contributed to the further strengthening of Tajikistan's international authority as a state that promotes ideas of peace, friendship, and solidarity through football.
