In Tajikistan, between May 25 and 27, several fatal road accidents occurred, resulting in the death of nine people and injuries of varying severity.
According to the republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs, on the evening of May 25, the driver of a Mercedes-Benz, Ramazon Khushakov, a resident of the Dusti district, lost control of his vehicle while traveling from the rural jamoat of Nuri Vakhsh toward the district center and struck a pedestrian, Nuriddin Mirzoyev, born in 1999. The victim died en route to the hospital.
On May 26, at kilometer 75 of the Dushanbe-Bokhtar highway in the Khuroson district, Uzbek citizen Nazribekjon Rakhimov, driving a Cobalt, lost control and crashed into an Opel Astra parked on the side of the road. As a result, Manizha Inoyatova, a passenger in the Opel Astra, born in 2002, sustained serious injuries and died in the hospital.
On the morning of May 27, in the Jayhun district, a minor, intoxicated driver of a Super-Khatlon motorcycle, born in 2008, struck six-year-old Mairam Khalifazoda. The child sustained serious injuries and later died in the hospital.
That same day, in the village of Roziyon in the Dangara district, the driver of a Howo truck, Sunatullo Ashurov, drove into oncoming traffic and collided with an AYON-Y electric vehicle. The driver of the car, Khikmatullo Gafurov, died in the hospital from his injuries.
Another fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of May 27 in the Lokhur jamoat of the Dangara district. Farrukh Almatov, the driver of a BYD E2 electric vehicle, lost control and crashed into a concrete barrier. The accident killed the driver and his passengers, Sayakhtam Odinazoda, born in 1967, and Kamolidin Odinaev, born in 1973.
In the Vose district, the driver of a Toyota Camry, Sharifjon Makhmudzoda, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Toyota Corolla Axio. The driver of the other vehicle, Mirzokhon Dzhumayev, sustained serious injuries and died en route to the hospital. One of the passengers in the Toyota Camry was hospitalized.
Another accident occurred in the afternoon of May 27 in the Jaykhun district. Muso Nematov, the driver of an Opel Astra, lost control of his vehicle, veered off the road, and collided with a bulldozer parked on the side of the road. He died in the hospital as a result of the accident. Five passengers, including two young children, sustained various injuries and were hospitalized.
All road traffic accidents are under investigation.
