On May 7, Tajikistan's Minister of Agriculture, Qurbon Hakimzoda, met with World Bank Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, Sameh Wahba, and World Bank Country Manager for Tajikistan, Hazem Ibrahim Hanbal. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the parties expressed appreciation for the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan and the World Bank. They also discussed issues of supporting agricultural development, establishing agro-logistics centers, preventing the impacts of climate change and drought, adapting crops to climate change, and supporting scientific research.



The parties paid special attention to issues of supporting the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Tajikistan and the Shirinsho Shokhtemur Tajik Agrarian University, as well as opportunities for the production and export of agricultural products.
Tajikistan's Minister of Agriculture, Kurbon Hakimzoda, expressed gratitude to World Bank representatives for their ongoing support and the implementation of joint projects.
In turn, Sameh Wahba, Regional Director of the World Bank's Europe and Central Asia Department, noted the organization's interest in the further development of Tajikistan's agricultural sector and the implementation of new projects and programs.
As part of this collaboration, the World Bank allocated $108 million for the Agricultural Resilience Project. According to the agency, the project has already demonstrated significant results.
