The Kyrgyz Ministry of Internal Affairs has disrupted the activities of a 15-member organized crime group, the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
According to the agency, the group's members used silicone masks of women and wigs to conceal their appearance when committing crimes.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the detainees had multiple previous convictions and were registered as active members of an organized crime group.
Law enforcement agencies have established their involvement in a series of thefts from administrative buildings, retail facilities, and offices, as well as armed robberies.
The damage caused is estimated at 25 million soms.
During the searches, professional equipment for opening safes and doors, a selection of keys of varying complexity, radio stations, GPS trackers for tracking objects, as well as devices for suppressing signals from security systems and alarms were confiscated from the detainees.
In addition, law enforcement officers seized weapons and ammunition, including an automatic rifle, pistols, and a combat grenade.
The suspects were placed in a pre-trial detention facility.
The Kyrgyz Ministry of Internal Affairs also reported that the criminal group had accomplices who are serving sentences in prison.
According to the agency, the scheme involved individuals who were at liberty committing crimes, after which the convicted individuals took the blame, choosing convenient time slots.
At present, the activities of the criminal group have been completely stopped.
Earlier, Kyrgyz media reported the arrest of an investigator with the State Committee for National Security for the Chui region of the republic, nicknamed Vaseline, as well as the head of the State Committee for National Security, nicknamed Grudak.
