Continuing his working visit to the Sughd region, Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda inspected the construction of a 250-megawatt solar power plant in the Asht district, according to the regional administration's press service.
The power plant is reportedly being built on a 750-hectare site and is designed to provide electricity to 115,000 households. The projected cost is $125 million.






It was noted that approximately 600 local residents are participating in the construction. Once the station is operational, 30 residents of the area will receive permanent jobs.
It is noted that installation of solar panels is planned to begin in the near future.






Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda called the construction of solar power plants a sustainable step toward the country's energy independence and gave relevant instructions to officials to expand the work.
