Sughd Region Governor Rajab Akhmadzoda inspected the construction project for a new bridge in Khujand, which will be built between the 12th microdistrict and the Razzok district. This was reported by the regional administration's press service.
During the project presentation, the regional leader was informed that, due to the annual growth in the number of public and private transport vehicles, it became necessary to build a new bridge to relieve traffic congestion.
The bridge design was developed by Rohi Vahdat LLC. The bridge will connect the 12th microdistrict and the Razzok district of Khujand. The total length of the structure will be 310 meters, and its width will be 26 meters.

Dedicated pedestrian walkways will be provided on both sides of the bridge. All construction and architectural codes and requirements will be fully met. The project includes the construction of 11 support columns. Ring roads will be built on both sides of the bridge to connect it to the existing transport infrastructure.
The implementation of this project will help reduce traffic congestion in the center of Khujand and facilitate traffic on the old bridge.
During his presentation of the project, the head of the region gave specific instructions to responsible officials, architects, and builders on finalizing the project, taking into account all modern construction standards and requirements.

As part of the expansion of Khujand's inner-city roads, the reconstruction of the old city bridge is also planned. According to the project, the width of the old bridge will be increased to 16 meters, allowing for a wider roadway. To achieve this, the road from the Ismail Somoni monument to the department store will be extended for 818 meters.
Rajab Ahmadzoda emphasized that the implementation of these two important initiatives is based on the instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon. The main goal of the projects is to create favorable conditions for the safe and unimpeded movement of citizens.
Construction and repair work on these two sites, as part of improvement and development activities, will be completed in time for the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, within the established deadlines and to a high standard.
