On December 12, the Agency for State Financial Control and Anti-Corruption of the Republic of Tajikistan held an international forum in Dushanbe entitled "Combating Corruption in Business." The event, held as part of International Anti-Corruption Day, aimed to expand cooperation with the private sector, support entrepreneurship, and improve the investment climate in the country, according to the Agency's press center.
The forum's primary goal was to draw public attention to anti-corruption issues in the private sector, discuss key industry issues, identify modern approaches to corporate governance, ensure transparency and integrity in business, and share best practices in these areas.
The forum was attended by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Khokim Khikmatullo Kholikzoda, heads of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management, the Accounts Chamber, the National Bank of Tajikistan, the Tax Committee and the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the Human Rights Commissioner.



In addition, the forum was attended by heads and representatives of other ministries and departments of the economic sector, law enforcement and judicial agencies, entrepreneurs, representatives of civil society, international organizations, professors of higher professional educational institutions, employees of foreign embassies accredited in the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as invited guests from anti-corruption agencies of Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, the Russian Federation, and Uzbekistan.
The forum consisted of five sessions, during which participants presented reports on topics under discussion, including state anti-corruption policy in ensuring economic security, integrity and corporate governance in business, combating corruption using digital technologies and artificial intelligence, and international experience in this area.
The event was held in a modern format, with online participation available, allowing entrepreneurs, civil society representatives, organizations, and leading international experts from more than 40 countries to join the discussion.
The draft Corporate Governance Code and the Action Plan for the implementation of the second phase of the State Anti-Corruption Strategy in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2026–2030 were presented at the forum. These documents are expected to strengthen anti-corruption mechanisms in the private sector, implement information technology and artificial intelligence to identify and eliminate factors of corruption, and reduce the level of corruption in various sectors.
Following the forum's work, a recommendation document, a Statement, was prepared, agreed upon by the participants and made publicly available.
The Agency's press center emphasized that the forum was held at a high international level and its results will help demonstrate the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan's consistent efforts to combat corruption in the international arena.
