On December 11, Khatlon Region Governor Davlatali Said inspected the progress of agricultural work in the region during a working visit to the Jaykhun district, the governor's press service reported.
During the visit, the head of the region inspected the cultivated areas, learned about the onion growing conditions, carrot harvesting, and vegetable storage.
The onion and potato sowing campaign has already begun in Khatlon Region. According to plans, 9,000 hectares of onions and 8,000 hectares of potatoes must be sown within the established timeframe.

The regional governor visited the early onion fields at the Shakhnoza farm. According to officials, 2,100 hectares of early onions are scheduled to be sown in the Jaykhun district this year, of which 1,500 hectares have already been sown, and work continues on the remaining land with local and Spanish onion varieties. The condition of the onions sown in September is currently assessed as good and satisfactory.
At the same time, the head of the region inspected the progress of vegetable storage, fertilization, preparation for spring sowing, agricultural work, and efficient land use at a number of farms.

It's worth noting that the Jayhun district is one of the most important agricultural regions in the Khatlon region and has been a leader in vegetable production in recent years. This season alone, the district harvested over 67,000 tons of carrots, which were sold domestically and internationally.
Davlatali Said presented his recommendations to industry officials on increasing crop yields, rational land use, and compliance with agricultural standards, emphasizing that high-quality agricultural work is essential for meeting market demands and supporting the region's economy.
