On the afternoon of December 9, 2025, a roundtable discussion on raising funds for the implementation of priority projects in the Republic of Tajikistan, including the construction of the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Station (HPP) and the development of social infrastructure, was held as part of the Financial Development Conference in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan.
The event was attended by senior representatives of the Islamic Development Bank, the Qatar Fund for Development, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, the Saudi Fund for Development, the OPEC Fund for International Development, the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, and other organizations.
At the beginning of the roundtable, Tajikistan's Minister of Finance, Faiziddin Sattor Qahhorzoda, provided a detailed overview of the Rogun HPP construction financing process, the progress of construction, investor participation, and other forms of cooperation by the Government of Tajikistan in implementing the project. A video report on the progress of construction at the Rogun HPP was also presented.


Given the regional significance of the Rogun HPP project, representatives of financial institutions were asked to assist in continuing its financing. Officials from the Islamic Development Bank, the Qatar Fund for Development, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, the Saudi Fund for Development, the OPEC Fund for International Development, and the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development expressed their willingness to support and finance this important regional project.
During the event, Finance Minister Fayziddin Sattor Qahhorzoda also met with Abdullah Al Mansoori, Regional Director for Asia at the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development. Abdullah Al Mansoori confirmed the fund's readiness to finance the continued construction of the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Station.
The parties agreed that issues of cooperation and the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development's participation in financing projects that are a priority for the republic will be specified and discussed in separate meetings in the coming months.
