On December 9, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited the city of Tursunzade to inspect living conditions, the progress of improvement and construction work, and the opening of a number of various facilities, the presidential press service reported.
During the visit, the head of state officially launched the second phase of operations at Alumin Prof Limited Liability Company, with an annual capacity of 8,760 tons of plastic products. As a reminder, Emomali Rahmon laid the foundation stone for the second phase of the plant on August 26, 2021, during the opening of the first phase.
The company manufactures more than five different types of plastic products that meet international standards. All of its output is exported. Regular operations at the second stage of the company's development meet domestic demand for high-quality import-substituting products, including plastic profiles, plastic pipes, rubber, butyl, and other products, thereby reducing prices. The company currently employs over 60 local specialists, and plans to increase its workforce to 80, 35 percent of whom are women.
The head of state emphasized the need to further increase production volumes, improve product quality, and reduce costs.
During the visit, the project for the third phase of the plant was also presented. This project envisions the construction of four workshops with an annual aluminum processing capacity of up to 8,000 tons. Once the third phase is launched, the workforce will be approximately 300, and the product range will be expanded.
Emomali Rahmon also commissioned Secondary General Education Institution No. 23 in the village of Regar in Tursunzade. Construction began in 2021. The school accommodates 1,056 students in two shifts and includes 20 classrooms, as well as subject areas for chemistry, biology, physics, geography, labor training, basic military training, and information technology. The school is equipped with computers with internet access, and the sports field is suitable for football, volleyball, and basketball. The school also has a cafeteria and auxiliary facilities to improve the quality of education and the work of teachers.
The head of state praised the quality of the construction work, thanked residents and entrepreneurs for their patriotic initiative, and offered guidance to teachers on the effective education and upbringing of the next generation.
More than 100 small and large industrial enterprises operate in the city of Tursunzade; their production volume for the first 10 months of 2025 reached more than one and a half billion somoni, which is 185 million somoni more than in the same period of 2024.
