Tajikistan's budget received 415 million somoni in fines for the first nine months of this year, according to a report from the country's Ministry of Finance. According to the document, this figure exceeds the government's planned expectations by almost 50%.
According to the Ministry of Finance, revenue from fines increased by 88 million somoni compared to the same period last year. According to official statistics, approximately 1.5 million somoni were collected daily by the state budget from fines.
The increase in budget revenue from fines is being observed amid citizen complaints about their excessively high size. This year, fines for evading military service, violating the law on regulating celebrations and rituals, as well as driving offenses and other categories of administrative violations, were increased.
