By 2025, 139 educational facilities are planned to open in Khatlon Oblast, including 1,277 classrooms with 31,925 seats in one shift and 63,850 seats in two shifts. The facilities will be opened in stages starting in March of this year, according to the press service of the governor of Khatlon Oblast.
In the first half of 2025, 24 facilities were commissioned, including 136 classrooms with 3,350 seats in one shift and 6,700 seats in two shifts.
There are 1,403 educational institutions and 18 private preschools operating in Khatlon Region. The kindergarten enrollment rate has reached 24.7% .
The State Program for the Development of Educational Institutions in Khatlon Region for 2022–2027 is being implemented. The second phase of the program (2025–2027) plans to address capacity issues, demolish dilapidated buildings, and create comfortable learning conditions.
The construction of 165 educational institution buildings with 53,303 seats is planned at a cost of 957.85 million somoni .
On October 23, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon opened Secondary School No. 90 in the village of Rakhshonzamin, Korez Jamoat, designed for 2,160 students . The two-story school was built by the Bobozoda family with the support of entrepreneurs.
The school provides vocational training facilities, including woodworking and carving equipment, sewing machines, and other modern tools. Girls can study sewing and master the basics of other professions under the guidance of teachers.
The head of state praised the quality of construction and gave instructions to teachers on the rational use of the school's resources and the development of educated, competent young people.
