During the first half of 2025, the Antimonopoly Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan reviewed and approved 178 price lists for paid services provided by state and non-state institutions and organizations. This was announced by the Head of the Antimonopoly Service, Khaidarali Rajabzoda, during a press conference in Dushanbe.
As the head of the department noted, the approved price lists include 27 for paid medical services, 59 for services of higher and secondary vocational educational institutions and scientific organizations, and 92 in other areas, including social and household services.
Rajabzoda emphasized that price lists for paid services in healthcare and education, with the exception of newly created institutions, new specialties, and state lyceums, are approved in accordance with current regulations and are not subject to arbitrary increases.
Furthermore, during the reporting period, the Antimonopoly Service conducted daily price monitoring of 20 socially significant goods, including food products and raw materials, in both domestic and foreign markets. According to the head of the service, most of these goods are imported, which, in turn, influences prices on the domestic market.
To prevent unjustified price increases, scheduled and unscheduled inspections of a number of economic entities were conducted. These oversight activities revealed violations of antitrust laws totaling 1.8 million somoni. Of this amount, 1.5 million somoni were recovered and transferred to the state budget.
Rajabzoda also reported that in the first half of 2025, the service reviewed 29 complaints from individuals and legal entities, including foreign citizens, related to unfair competition and the monopolization of intellectual property. Following the review of all complaints, appropriate measures were taken: appropriate orders and instructions were issued to stop and eliminate the violations.
The press service of the Antimonopoly Service confirmed that oversight of compliance with antimonopoly legislation in the Republic of Tajikistan will continue on a systematic basis.
