At the Palace of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, in honor of the 34th anniversary of State independence, presented the highest state awards and honorary prizes, and conferred honorary titles to representatives of various professions who have achieved significant results in their work.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the head of state warmly congratulated those gathered on the national holiday and the awards they received. "State independence and our national freedom are a sacred blessing and the most precious treasure in life for every member of society. Achieving this bright day marked a fateful turning point in the history of our people," Rahmon emphasized.
The President particularly recognized the dedicated service and hard work of specialists from various fields—scientists, teachers, doctors, poets, writers, cultural and artistic figures, diplomats, workers, construction workers, and farmers—who have made a worthy contribution to the country's development. "The country's leadership values all creative endeavors and the dedicated work of its citizens and generously rewards outstanding achievements," the head of state said.
Rahmon paid special attention to the contributions of patriotic entrepreneurs, investors, and philanthropists, expressing gratitude to the awarded businessmen and all generous people of the country, wishing them success in their endeavors.
During the ceremony, approximately 200 people received state awards for outstanding work achievements, effective service, and the development of science, culture, and other sectors of the economy.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan "On rewarding workers in the fields of science and culture, healthcare, production of goods and services, local authorities, civil servants, and entrepreneurs with state awards of the Republic of Tajikistan," awards were presented for contributions to the development of science, protection of public health, effective work in public service, as well as for industrial and entrepreneurial achievements.
Specifically, four artists, including Turakhon Akhmadkhonov and Isfandiyor Gulomzoda, were awarded the title of "People's Artist of Tajikistan." Renowned journalist Latofat Kenjaeva received the honorary title of "People's Poetess of Tajikistan." One person received the title of "People's Writer of Tajikistan," two received the title of "Artist of Tajikistan," five received the title of "Honored Artist of Tajikistan," and 23 received the title of "Honored Worker of Tajikistan."
In addition, 3 citizens were awarded the Order of Dusti, 1 – the Order of Sharaf of the 1st degree, 11 people – the Order of Sharaf of the 2nd degree, 107 – the Khizmati Shoista medal, and 7 more were awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The President also emphasized that since the first days of independence, social protection of the population, the development of science, education, healthcare, and culture have remained priorities of state policy. The establishment of special state awards for scientists and teachers in the natural, exact, and mathematical sciences, as well as the updated regulations for the Ismoili Somoni Prize for young scientists, have been important steps in this direction.
This year, 12 researchers were awarded the Ismoili Somoni Prize. Additionally, 15 teachers and scientists received Tajik state awards in the natural, exact, and mathematical sciences.
The purpose of these awards, the President noted, is to stimulate scientific research, develop innovation, enhance the status of scientists in society, and improve the teaching of natural and exact sciences among students and schoolchildren.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Emomali Rahmon once again congratulated the awardees, expressing confidence that they will continue to use their knowledge, experience, and efforts to advance the prosperity of independent Tajikistan and strengthen peace, stability, and national unity.
