On September 16, 2025, a meeting of the Working Group for the Analysis of the Situation and Practical Application of Recognition and Equivalence (Conformity) of Educational Documents in the Field of Healthcare in the CIS Member States was held via videoconference, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reported.
The event was attended by representatives from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the CIS Executive Committee.
The main focus was on discussing current personnel issues, features of educational programs, postgraduate training, and mutual recognition of educational documents.
Participants noted that medical personnel are the most important component of healthcare resources. The quality of medical care directly depends on the level of training and availability of personnel. There is a growing need for medical personnel in practical healthcare, driven by the rapid development and implementation of high-tech medical care. At the same time, many countries face workforce challenges, including shortages of medical professionals, high turnover, and uneven distribution of specialists, including geographical distribution.
Solving existing problems requires a comprehensive approach that includes joint efforts of the education and healthcare systems, professional communities and medical workers.
During the meeting, participants shared approaches to training and improving the qualifications of medical personnel, discussed problematic issues, and agreed to hold an additional meeting this year.
