On Thursday, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, ceremoniously opened a new building of the Central District Hospital in the village of Vahdat, the administrative center of the Shugnan district of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
The construction of the facility became an important part of the national program for modernization of the healthcare system and was timed to coincide with the 28th anniversary of National Unity Day and the 35th anniversary of State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan. 13 million somoni were allocated from the state budget for the implementation of the project.
The new building consists of three floors and a basement, occupies an area of 2,419 square meters, and the total area of the hospital complex is 1 hectare. The medical institution includes more than 75 rooms, including 55 wards with 45 beds. The hospital structure includes departments of pediatrics, surgery, gynecology, resuscitation, obstetrics, diagnostics and other auxiliary services.
Particular attention is paid to equipping the institution: modern medical devices are installed – a digital X-ray machine, ultrasound machines, ECG, as well as equipment for surgical and diagnostic procedures. The total cost of medical equipment exceeds 2 million somoni. The equipment was purchased in leading countries and meets international standards.
During the visit, Emomali Rahmon got acquainted with the working conditions of medical personnel, the state of departments and held a conversation with doctors and employees. The President gave specific instructions to ensure a high level of medical care, professional growth of personnel and respectful attitude towards patients.
"The hospital is not just a building – it is a place where lives are saved. The conditions created allow us to provide access to quality medicine for more than 14 thousand residents of the Shugnan district," the President emphasized.
An interesting feature of the new complex is the so-called “herbal corner”, where infusions and preparations are prepared based on natural plants and flowers of Tajikistan.
The area around the building is landscaped: landscaping, decorative lighting and architectural design give the complex an aesthetic and modern look.
According to local authorities, there are currently 55 medical institutions operating in the Shugnansky District, employing over 410 qualified specialists. The commissioning of the new Central Hospital will significantly expand the region's medical care capabilities.
