During a working visit to the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region on June 25, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, commissioned a new road connecting the district center of Vanch with the Dushanbe-Kulma highway. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
The new road, 16 kilometres long and consisting of two traffic lanes, was built as part of a state programme to improve transport infrastructure and bring road conditions into line with international standards.
As the head of state noted, the implementation of the project contributes to the formation of modern transport corridors, sustainable economic development and improvement of the quality of life of the population.
Pedestrian crossings have been arranged along the road, bus stops have been installed, and shade and decorative trees have been planted. Street lighting has been installed in the settlements located along the route, which not only ensures safety at night, but also creates a favorable aesthetic environment.
On the instructions of the President, within the framework of this project, three kilometers of intra-city roads in the Vanch district will also be reconstructed.
The central road connecting Vanj with the key Dushanbe-Kulma highway is of great socio-economic importance, as it helps to increase the volume and improve the quality of freight and passenger transportation.
The construction of the facility was completed on time and in full compliance with the design parameters. According to experts, the road meets modern requirements and will become an important link in the development of the region's transport network.
