Large-scale construction and restoration work is underway in the Rasht district of the Republic of Tajikistan in preparation for the 35th anniversary of the country's state independence. According to the Executive Authority of the district, a total of 307 socially significant facilities are planned to be built and reconstructed.
To date, more than 200 facilities have been completed and commissioned, and construction work is ongoing at another 94 facilities.
The projects are being implemented within the framework of the "Program for Economic and Social Development of the Rasht Region for 2021-2025". In particular, the construction of:

39 educational institutions,
-
15 healthcare facilities,
-
34 sports halls and grounds.
In addition, the district plans to implement a project to introduce an electronic system for monitoring and accounting of electricity. The cost of the project will be 42 million somoni. It is expected that this will significantly improve the efficiency of the power supply system and reduce losses.
Over the past 15 years, significant work has also been carried out in the district to provide citizens with land plots. A total of 811 hectares of land were allocated, and more than 3.5 thousand families were provided with household plots. Over the years of independence, 125 educational buildings have been built in the Rasht district, designed to teach more than 23 thousand schoolchildren.
On April 11 of this year, a devastating earthquake occurred in the region, as a result of which 150 residential buildings were damaged in 11 villages, of which 34 were completely destroyed, 116 were partially destroyed, and another 134 houses and 59 outbuildings received minor damage.
On the instructions of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the victims are provided with comprehensive support. The state and local authorities provide building materials, food, and essential items. 116 partially destroyed houses have been fully provided with building materials. New residential buildings are being built taking into account modern building codes and standards, including through the efforts of the residents themselves and local authorities.
Financial and food assistance was also provided to 193 families whose homes suffered minor damage, twice, through the republican government and the district administration.
