In the city of Vahdat, the rural health center "Simiganj" was put into operation after major repairs. The facility was opened on the eve of the 28th anniversary of National Unity Day. This was reported by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The opening ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan, Gafur Mukhsinzoda, the leadership of the Executive Authority of the city of Vahdat, the Director of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Tajikistan, Sabine Olthoff, as well as representatives of the healthcare sector.
The major overhaul of the rural medical facility was carried out as part of the implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to improve the population's access to high-quality and modern medical services. The repair was carried out with the support of development partners and in compliance with international standards.
The Simiganj Health Centre, located in the Simiganj Jamoat, serves approximately 7,500 people. It is equipped with modern facilities and includes 11 offices designed to provide primary health care.
Speaking at the opening, Gafur Mukhsinzoda, on behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Health, congratulated the doctors of Vahdat on this significant event, noting that the opening of the institution is timed to coincide with National Unity Day and is an important gift from the government for both the population and the region's healthcare system.
"Use all the conditions created to ensure the health of the population as much as possible. Society needs your dedication, responsibility and attentive attitude to each patient," the deputy minister emphasized in his address to the center's staff.
Today, as noted by the Ministry of Health, there are 115 primary health care institutions operating in the city of Vahdat, including 1 city health center, 30 rural centers, 83 medical centers and 1 ambulance station.
The development of the healthcare system and the improvement of the material and technical base of medical institutions remain among the priorities of Tajikistan’s state policy in the social sphere.
