On May 16, 2025, the Commission of Commissioners for Children's Rights (Ombudsmen) of the CIS Member States held an International Conference "The Child's Right to Historical Memory", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the press service of the Organization's Executive Committee reported.
The organizer of the international conference was the Republic of Tajikistan represented by the Deputy Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tajikistan – Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Republic of Tajikistan Bobojonzoda Midzhgona Bobojona.
The event was attended by employees of the offices of the Commissioners for Children's Rights, experts from government agencies, educational institutions, the specialized center of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the CIS Executive Committee.
In memory of the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, with gratitude to our heroes for the Victory , a presentation was presented at the international conference about the grandfathers and great-grandfathers of the members of the Commission, employees of the offices of the Commissioners for Children's Rights, and the legal department of the CIS Executive Committee .
In order to preserve the historical memory of the feat of our predecessors, the speakers of the Commonwealth states presented reports on the following topics:
implementation of the child's rights to historical memory through the prism of educational and cultural events (Republic of Armenia),
the memory of the Great Victory as the basis for the civic and patriotic education of the younger generation (Republic of Belarus),
the role of education in preserving historical memory among the younger generation (Republic of Kazakhstan),
genocide of the soviet people: children's aspect (Russian Federation),
the experience of the Federal Children's Public Council in preserving historical memory (Russian Federation),
the contribution of a Kyrgyz girl to saving the lives of children in besieged Leningrad (Kyrgyz Republic),
mechanisms of education in the education system: “memory lessons” (Kyrgyz Republic),
historical aspects of establishing the origin of a child (Republic of Tajikistan),
norms that prevent the participation of children in armed conflicts (Republic of Tajikistan).
