On May 1, a round table on strengthening bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Oman was held in Muscat in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, NIAT Khovar reports.
The roundtable was attended by more than 30 representatives of relevant ministries and departments of Oman, representing sectors such as investment, trade and economy, finance and taxation, banking, agriculture and industry, energy, transport and civil aviation, tourism and culture, youth and sports, science and education, engineering and architecture.
The meeting was co-chaired by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Sultanate of Oman Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda and the Head of the Gulf and Central Asian Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashil Al-Maskari.
One of the key topics of the round table was strengthening the contractual and legal framework of relations, which creates a legal basis for the beginning of cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Zubaydzoda emphasized that strengthening and deepening cooperation between Tajikistan and the Arab countries of the Gulf, including the Sultanate of Oman, is one of the priorities of the foreign policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
It was noted that the development of close and mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Oman also has a significant impact on the expansion of multifaceted ties between Central Asia and the Gulf countries, two regions rich in natural, economic and human resources.
A short video was also presented demonstrating promising areas of cooperation, in particular, the investment potential and opportunities of Tajikistan.
Following the round table, the draft Executive Program for Cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2026-2027 was discussed.
