On July 10, a closed meeting of the Ministers of Economy of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held in Tianjin, People's Republic of China, within the framework of the SCO Digital Economy Forum, in which the delegation of Tajikistan took part. This was reported by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the event, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda noted that Tajikistan attaches particular importance to expanding cooperation within the SCO. As a result, the share of SCO member countries in Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover increased to 72%.
It was emphasized that the share of the digital economy in the global gross domestic product currently exceeds 15%, and in the coming years this figure will reach 20%.
During his speech, Zavki Zavkizoda presented the country's achievements in the field of digitalization of the national economy, noting that, given the key importance of this area in Tajikistan, 2025-2030 have been declared the "Years of Development of the Digital Economy and Innovations".
It was also noted that a number of important initiatives have been implemented in the Republic of Tajikistan, including the adoption of strategic documents, the creation of a new industry structure, the introduction of digital platforms in various economic and social spheres, the digitalization of services of the Smart City Dushanbe system, as well as the development of digital startups with international prestige, such as zypl.ai.
