From July 9 to 12, at the initiative of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in cooperation with relevant ministries and departments, an information and explanatory campaign called “Mobile Rescue” is being conducted in the city of Dushanbe and districts of republican subordination, the press service of the Committee reports.
As part of this campaign, working groups conduct conversations with residents, especially with children, teenagers and adults on the banks of reservoirs. Specialists teach them the rules of safe behavior on the water, first aid and the use of rescue equipment.
Analysis shows that most drowning cases occur due to failure to follow swimming rules, children and teenagers being in places prohibited for swimming, and lack of supervision by adults.
Given the climatic features of the region, when the risk of such incidents increases during the hot season, strengthening the explanatory and control work on the part of all responsible entities – from families to educational institutions – is of particular importance. After all, knowledge of the rules of conduct on the water and their correct observance can prevent tragedies.
In this regard, the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan calls on citizens and guests of the country to observe safety rules when swimming and to swim only in specially designated areas.
