The Caspi Bitum road bitumen plant located in Aktau, Kazakhstan, hosted a delegation of journalists from Central Asian countries and the People's Republic of China. The visit was part of a familiarization tour, during which media representatives visited the key production facilities of the enterprise and took part in a press conference dedicated to the plant's activities and its strategic plans.
The tour of the enterprise allowed journalists to see with their own eyes the entire technological cycle – from oil reception to the production of high-quality bitumen, including modified and oxidized grades. As was noted during the event, the production uses unique oil from the Karazhanbas field, which allows for the production of bitumen that has no analogues in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Deputy General Director of the enterprise Talgat Mukanov met with journalists and spoke in detail about the current state and prospects of the plant. According to him, Caspi Bitum is the only specialized manufacturer of oxidized and modified road bitumen in the country. Since its launch in 2013, the enterprise has become the flagship of the industry.

"During our operation, we have gone from experimental production to a large-scale industrial complex. The modernization carried out in 2022-2025 allowed us to increase the volume of oil refining to 1.5 million tons per year and increase bitumen production to 700 thousand tons. We are confident that the potential of our plant is capable of meeting the needs of not only Kazakhstan, but also the countries of the region," Mukanov noted.
Currently, the company employs 237 people, the average age of employees is about 40 years. The team was awarded the Paryz prize for the best collective agreement, which emphasizes the high level of social responsibility and corporate culture of the company.
Caspi Bitum covers about 50% of the bitumen market in Kazakhstan, providing material for almost all strategically important highways in the country, including the Western Europe – Western China highway. In the coming years, the plant intends to increase its share to 55–60%, as well as actively develop export directions.

"Our primary task is to cover the country's domestic needs. However, we are already preparing to enter the markets of Central Asia – Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan. The products meet international standards and the requirements of these countries," the plant representative emphasized.
Caspi Bitum is also actively developing the production of packaged bitumen in big bags, which ensures the preservation of quality during transportation over long distances. This is especially important in the conditions of the seasonal nature of production, typical for this industry.
The media representatives expressed high appreciation for the level of technical equipment and transparency of the production process. The plant positions itself as an environmentally friendly enterprise that fully complies with the current norms and standards of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the end of the press tour, journalists were provided with information about plans to deepen cooperation with Kazakhstani road construction companies, including such large organizations as KazAvtoZhol, SK Bazis and other contracting structures involved in the repair and construction of highways.
