On the night of July 10, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a massive combined attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region. As a result of the attack using kamikaze drones of the Shahed type and missiles of various classes, civilian casualties and significant destruction of infrastructure facilities were recorded in the capital of Ukraine.
As reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, 16 people were injured in the attack, 10 of whom were hospitalized with various injuries. The rest were given assistance on the spot.
The head of the Kyiv city military administration, Timur Tkachenko, confirmed the death of two people: "Unfortunately, there are two dead. These people were killed by Russians. This is a terrible loss. My sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims," he said.
According to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, the dead included a 68-year-old resident of the capital and a 22-year-old police corporal, a metro employee. Both women were in a dormitory in the Podolsk district, where the drone debris fell.

As of 8:20 a.m., destruction and falling debris were recorded in the Goloseevsky, Darnytsky, Desnyansky, Dniprovsky, Obolonsky, Podolsky, Solomyansky and Shevchenkivsky districts of the capital.
In addition to Kyiv, the strikes also hit the Kyiv region. In the Obukhov district, a 51-year-old man was wounded and taken to hospital. Destruction was recorded in four administrative districts of the region.
Local authorities are urging residents of the capital to keep their windows closed upon returning from shelters due to heavy smoke in the city caused by numerous fires.
Let us recall that during the night attack on Kyiv, both drones and missiles were used – ballistic and cruise missiles, which were launched in two waves. The Ukrainian air defense system was put on full combat alert and was working on targets.
The authorities continue to clarify information about the victims and damage. All emergency services, as well as investigative and operational teams, are working on the scene.
