The Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Tajikistan with residence in Astana Salman Bal. The meeting was held in the spirit of friendship and mutual understanding, the press service of the department reports.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for expanding bilateral economic cooperation. Zavqizoda Z.A. emphasized that thanks to the far-sighted policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the President of the Swiss Confederation, relations between the two countries have reached a qualitatively new level and continue to develop.
It was noted that in January-May 2025, the volume of foreign trade turnover between Tajikistan and Switzerland reached 49.8 million US dollars. This figure allowed Switzerland to take second place among Tajikistan's European trading partners for the specified period.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed organizational issues related to the upcoming visit of a delegation of Swiss entrepreneurs to Tajikistan, scheduled for September 15–19, 2025.
Following the negotiations, mutual interest was expressed in further deepening the mutually beneficial partnership, as well as the successful implementation of current and prospective projects and programs.
