Ladies and gentlemen,
First of all, I would like to once again sincerely welcome you, dear Sadyr Nurgozhoevich, and the official delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic in Tajikistan.
During today's negotiations, which took place in a spirit of mutual understanding and constructive dialogue, we examined in detail the entire range of Tajik-Kyrgyz relations.
In this context, the trend towards strengthening regular political dialogue at the highest and high levels was particularly emphasized.
They noted their mutual desire to quickly complete border demarcation and strengthen confidence-building measures in border areas.
During the negotiations, we focused on the development of trade and economic cooperation.
We had a thorough exchange of views on issues of increasing bilateral trade turnover.
Among other things, they discussed issues of expanding the range of mutually supplied products and eliminating existing trade barriers.
We noted the importance of developing connections at the regional level, especially in border areas.
We discussed the prospects for implementing joint projects in priority areas of the economy.
These are, first of all, the spheres of energy, transport, industry, agriculture and tourism.
Particular attention was paid to issues of promoting effective cooperation in various branches of industry and in the agro-industrial complex.
We agreed to continue cooperation in the field of hydropower.
They noted the importance of the launch of the Khujand-Datka power transmission line between our countries within the framework of the CASA-1000 project.
We stressed the importance of fully implementing this project to expand the opportunities for our countries to participate in the development of regional energy.
The importance of intensifying further coordination of actions within the framework of the Joint Tajik-Kyrgyz Water Management Commission was also emphasized.
During the negotiations, we advocated for the activation of business contacts.
In this context, a decision was made to establish a Business Council of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries as an effective platform for developing ties between business circles.
The Tajik-Kyrgyz Trade, Economic and Investment Forum will begin its work in Dushanbe today.
I am confident that its results will serve to achieve the goals and objectives we have defined in the economic areas of cooperation.
We discussed in detail issues of cooperation in the field of transport and communications both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of multilateral cooperation.
The focus was on the implementation of joint infrastructure projects, simplification of cargo transportation procedures, as well as the development of logistics and digital solutions.
We noted the importance of intensifying the work and modernizing border crossing points in order to create favorable conditions for the movement of people, goods and services.
Just now, Sadyr Nurgozhoevich and I launched the operation of another checkpoint on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border online.
We are convinced that the resumption of work at the Tojvaron-Karamyk checkpoint between the Lyakhsh and Chon-Alai regions of our countries will contribute to achieving the above goals.
They confirmed their mutual desire to increase the number of regular flights, as well as bus routes, including between border regions.
We discussed issues of developing the cultural and humanitarian dimension of our relations.
They spoke in support of the implementation of joint initiatives in the areas of science and education, cultural exchange, youth policy and sports.
Today we signed an important document, the Agreement on the establishment of an Intergovernmental Council headed by the Prime Ministers of the two countries.
The significant package of bilateral documents adopted as a result of today's negotiations, in general, filled the legal framework for cooperation between the two countries with new content.
In this way, we have strengthened the legal basis for the further expansion of the entire range of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.
Against the backdrop of growing instability in the world, we had a meaningful exchange of views on security issues.
We placed emphasis on joint approaches to strengthening stability in the region.
We confirmed our firm commitment to strengthening the joint fight against terrorism and extremism, manifestations of radicalism, cross-border crime, including cybercrime, and illegal drug trafficking.
They noted their commitment to developing partnerships in the international and regional arenas.
They spoke in favor of further joint efforts to build on the positive trend in the development of regional cooperation.
They noted the importance of strengthening the practice of supporting each other’s initiatives at international and regional venues.
I am confident that the agreements reached following the visit open up new prospects for expanding the entire spectrum of bilateral relations.
They reflect the common aspiration of the parties to ensure sustainable stability and prosperity for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries and the region.
