Police officers in the Khatlon region have identified a group of individuals suspected of committing fraud and forging documents, causing damage to citizens totaling approximately 900 thousand somoni.
As reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Khuroson District, a criminal case has been opened against four local residents on the grounds of crimes under Articles 247, Parts 3 and 4, as well as 340, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Among those detained are: Bobokalonov Shakhobiddin Bobokulovich, born in 1987; Ismatov Islom Muhamadradzhabovich, born in 1984; Ganiev Umedjon Mukhammadievich, born in 1982, previously convicted under Articles 247 and 338 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan; Ismatova Gulshan Pardaevna, born in 1987.
As the investigation established, the said persons, acting in collusion, misled residents of the Khuroson and Yavan districts, promising assistance in obtaining land plots. Having received large sums of money from the victims – from 8 to 150 thousand somoni, the perpetrators disappeared, avoiding further contact with citizens. In a number of cases, they provided forged documents imitating the legality of their actions.
The police detained the suspects during operational and investigative activities. The investigation established that the fraudulent actions were systematic. Currently, 16 episodes of criminal activity have been recorded, including 11 episodes in which Umedjon Ganiev appears.
Additionally, it was established that Ganiev, abusing the trust of residents of the Khuroson district – Gulomov Faridun and Aminov Bekhruz, under the pretext of a temporary loan, received Lexus RX-350 and Mazda-6 cars from them, after which he illegally sold the vehicles to third parties.
The total material damage caused by the group's actions amounts to about 900 thousand somoni. According to the investigation, all proceeds from crime were used by the detainees for personal needs.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan appeals to citizens who may have suffered from the actions of this group of persons with a request to contact the territorial police departments at their place of residence.
Investigative actions are ongoing. The issue of preventive measures for the suspects is being decided.
