On July 3, 2025, the second meeting of the expert group to agree on the draft Concept for the connection of main transport arteries passing through the territories of the CIS member states was held at the Moscow Office of the CIS Executive Committee, the press service of the Organization’s Executive Committee reported.
The draft document was developed by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and defines the goals and trends of development of the transport system in the CIS.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the plenipotentiary representative of the Russian Federation in the Commission on Economic Affairs under the CIS Economic Council, the heads of the Executive Committee of the Coordinating Transport Conference of the CIS Member States, as well as the CIS Executive Committee .
The meeting was opened by the Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the CIS Executive Committee, Mikhail Evgenievich Myskin.
Myskin M.E. noted that the draft Concept has been finalized and reflects the agreed vision of states on key approaches to the connection and modernization of transport arteries in the territories of the CIS member states.
Following the discussion, the meeting participants approved the draft Concept, revised taking into account the comments received from the CIS member states.
The document is planned to be submitted for consideration to the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS in accordance with the established procedure.
