Specialists from the Agency for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Tajikistan have identified two new archaeological sites of Buddhist origin in the city of Nurek. This was reported by the press service of the agency.
According to the agency, the structures date back to the 7th–8th centuries AD and are built in the traditional national architectural style with a domed vault. The first monument measures 3 by 9 meters, the second – 3 by 6 meters.
The objects were discovered during the update of the State Register of Historical and Cultural Monuments. The work on inventory and study of the heritage continues.
