The National Bank of Tajikistan, by decision of the Board, is putting into circulation new banknotes of the 2024 and 2025 models in order to provide the country's economy with modern banknotes. This was reported by the bank's press department.
According to the resolution, banknotes of 200 and 500 somoni of the 2024 model, and banknotes of 20, 50 and 100 somoni of the 2025 model will be put into circulation. The new banknotes are intended to improve the convenience of payments and optimize cash circulation in the country.
The Bank’s press department noted that the issue of new banknotes complies with the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan “On the National Bank of Tajikistan” and is aimed at stabilizing and developing the national economy.
“The introduction of new banknotes into circulation will improve the quality of money, increase its protection against counterfeiting and meet the needs of the population and businesses in cash payments,” the official statement says.
The new banknotes are produced using modern security technologies and meet the latest safety and ergonomic requirements.
The press department emphasized that the gradual issue of banknotes is planned to be carried out in accordance with the schedule approved by the National Bank, with mandatory notification of the population and financial institutions.
This decision is intended to ensure the stability of monetary circulation in Tajikistan and support the national currency in the context of a dynamically developing economy.
