On June 4, in Dushanbe, within the framework of Tajikistan's chairmanship in the Commonwealth of Independent States, the 11th meeting of the Council on Industrial Policy of the Member States and the First Consultative Meeting of the Ministers of Industry of the Central Asian States will be held. Preparations for these events are currently underway, NIAT "Khovar" reports with reference to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan Aziz Nazar said that all invited heads of industry ministries from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan confirmed their participation in the meetings.
“The meeting also includes participation by the heads of five higher education institutions – the basic organizations of the Commonwealth states for the training, professional retraining and advanced training of personnel in various branches of industry.
The Council meeting and the Consultative meeting will be chaired by the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir.
In the Concept of Tajikistan's chairmanship in the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2025, approved by the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, esteemed Emomali Rahmon, priority attention is given to the topic of interaction in the industrial sphere,” noted Aziz Nazar.
"The agenda of the meeting of the CIS Industrial Policy Council covers important issues of interaction between member states in the sphere of industry, development of industrial partnership and cooperation, including in the field of production of advanced materials for high-tech industries, digital transformation of the mining and metallurgical and chemical industries of the CIS member states, issues of implementation of agreements on the development of civil shipbuilding, as well as in the field of oil and gas and chemical engineering," – Aziz Nazar.
It is also planned to hear information about the activities of basic organizations of the CIS member states in the training, professional retraining and advanced training of personnel in the oil and gas, chemical, mining and metallurgical industries, textile and light industry, modern materials science and industrial recycling, as well as in the field of development, research and application of structural and functional materials.
“It is planned to consider the status and prospects for the development of cooperation, the implementation of the planned plans for industrial cooperation of the Central Asian states in the field of industry, taking into account the rich natural resource potential, as well as the experience of joint participation in large regional economic projects, a rapidly developing industrial base and opportunities for creating a sustainable and innovative industrial partnership based on advanced technologies.
Following the meeting, it is planned to sign a final document.
As part of the above-mentioned events, an industrial exhibition will also be organized in the city of Dushanbe, where the industrial potential of Tajikistan will be demonstrated,” said Aziz Nazar.
It should be noted that holding the first Consultative Meeting of the Ministers of Industry of the Central Asian States in Dushanbe was proposed by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon during the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia held on August 9, 2024 in Astana.
