The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, held a meeting with the First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammadreza Auref, who arrived in Dushanbe on an official visit and to participate in the first International Conference on Glacier Conservation. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
During the talks, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the development and strengthening of bilateral cooperation. Emomali Rahmon noted the progressive development of Tajik-Iranian relations and confirmed Tajikistan's readiness to further deepen multifaceted cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to trade and economic relations during the meeting. Energy, oil and gas, international transportation, science and technology, agriculture, healthcare, and other key areas of bilateral partnership were named among the priority areas.





The parties stressed the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary ties and expressed their readiness to intensify cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations, including the UN, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Economic Cooperation Organization and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
In this context, the practice of mutual support for international initiatives was highly praised, which, in the opinion of the parties, serves to strengthen global and regional stability.
