On the afternoon of May 28, as part of an official visit to the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Chairman of the city of Dushanbe, respected Rustam Emomali, held a meeting with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. This was reported by the press service of the Majlisi Milli.
At the beginning of the meeting, Rustami Emomali conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the head of the Russian state on behalf of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon.
During the talks, a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed, including the development of strategic partnership and alliance between Tajikistan and Russia. The parties gave a positive assessment of the state of inter-parliamentary cooperation, noting its progressive development and sustainable dynamics of strengthening.
Particular attention was paid to issues of political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian and military-technical cooperation. It was noted that close and regular political dialogue at the highest level contributes to the implementation of specific projects in various areas.


Rustam Emomali expressed gratitude to Vladimir Putin for supporting two significant social initiatives in Dushanbe – the construction of the building of the Russian State Theatre named after V. Mayakovsky and the Sirius Center for Gifted Children.
During the meeting, the importance of intensifying the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was emphasized in order to unlock existing potential and expand cooperation in all areas.
The parties also discussed issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, including support for projects in the field of education, promotion of the Russian language and dissemination of Russian culture.


A separate block of discussion was devoted to issues of labor migration. The importance of coordinated efforts to solve the problems faced by labor migrants and to ensure their legal and social protection was emphasized.
During the conversation, an exchange of views also took place on key international and regional issues, including those related to the unstable situation in Afghanistan and security in Central Asia.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of constructive dialogue and mutual respect, confirming the high level of trust and partnership between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.
