A meeting of the Youth Affairs Council under the Chairman of the Region was held in the building of the executive authority of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region with the participation of the head of the region Alisher Mirzonabot. The event was devoted to discussing issues of state youth policy and summing up the results of activities for the first five months of the current year, the press service of the regional administration reports .
Upon arrival at the Khorog city administration building, the official delegation was met by students of the art school to the sounds of national melodies. Before the meeting, the head of the region familiarized himself with the achievements of young athletes in the region. The importance of sports success for the further development of the social sphere was especially emphasized.



As part of the meeting agenda, the Secretary of the Council, Head of the Department for Youth and Sports of GBAO Solehjon Amirdzhonzoda delivered the main report. He reported that in the first three months of 2025, more than 167 sporting events were held in the cities and districts of the region, in which almost 44 thousand people took part.
During the reporting period, GBAO athletes won 4 gold, 8 silver and 4 bronze medals at international and national competitions. Successes in the development of football and volleyball leagues, as well as the expansion of the activities of sports federations were also announced.
During the meeting, the work plan of the Youth Affairs Council for the second half of 2025 was approved. Representatives of the youth also spoke, including the winner of the republican competition "The Radiance of Dawn – Book of Wisdom" Shakhina Mabatkadamova, athlete Yasmina Alidodova and student of Khorog State University Shavkat Smoilbekova. They expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon for supporting young people and creating conditions for their development.




Summing up the meeting, the regional chairman Alisher Mirzonabot called on the members of the Council and all young people to be active participants in socio-economic processes.
"Today, all the conditions for learning and self-realization have been created. It is important that you, the builders of tomorrow, use these opportunities as effectively as possible," he said.
The Council has been tasked with ensuring the implementation of all activities envisaged in the plan for the second half of the year at a high organizational and ideological-educational level.
