The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development plans to implement a new project to create modern infrastructure in the village of Saykhun. This was noted during a meeting of representatives of the Sughd region with a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), NIAT Khovar reports with reference to the press service of the regional administration.
The report notes that the main goal of the EBRD projects is to develop the region’s economy, provide the population with housing, protect agricultural land and create a full-fledged infrastructure.
At the meeting, the Concept for the Development of Integrated Urban Traffic in Khujand and its environs was presented, and issues of investment in transport infrastructure, support for the city’s economy and improvement of living conditions were discussed.
Currently, dozens of projects are being implemented in the region with the support of development partners and this bank. In particular, the implementation of the project "Development of public transport in the city of Khujand" and the purchase of electric buses are important steps in improving the environment and eliminating transport problems.
During the meeting, it was also recognized that it was necessary to fully implement the project, receive funds on time, and purchase the required number of electric vehicles.
