The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Industry of the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Deputy Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, as well as representatives of the Republic of India and the Islamic Republic of Iran at the level of Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation.
The heads of delegations discussed prospects for further development of cooperation within the SCO, taking into account the significant potential and existing capabilities of member states in the industrial sphere. An exchange of views took place on issues of industrial modernization, attracting investment, opportunities for the formation of industrial clusters and the development of modern innovative technologies.
Heads of delegations approved the "Regulations for the work of the permanent SCO working group on industry" and the "Regulations on the organization of congress and exhibition events under the auspices of the Conference of Ministers of Industry of the SCO Member States". A decision was made to continue work on the draft "Regulations on the Data Bank of investment projects in the sphere of industry of the SCO Member States".
In his speech, SCO Deputy Secretary-General Sohail Khan noted the relevance of adopting relevant documents in the industrial sector and stressed the importance of increasing the practical impact of the specialized mechanism in the context of the ongoing course of modernization of the SCO.
Following the event, a Protocol was signed.
