Future industries, including biomanufacturing, quantum technology, embodied intelligence and 6G technology, are rapidly developing in China. These areas were included in this year's Government Work Report, attracting wide public attention, People's Daily reported, citing Huanquan.
China was one of the first countries to actively develop embodied intelligence technologies. Huawei, Tencent, BYD and others are already implementing relevant projects. Zhejiang and Guangdong provinces have introduced measures to support the development of embodied intelligence and anthropomorphic robots.
"With years of experience in industrial robots and rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, China has already demonstrated an early advantage in humanoid robots," said Chen Zhi, a research fellow at the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology Development (CASTED).
As early as 2018, China launched a large-scale R&D program in green biomanufacturing technologies. In the 6G field, China was the first in the world to successfully deploy a field test network integrating intelligent technologies and communications.
From investments to results, from the laboratory to the market – the prospects for the practical application of advanced technologies of the future are already becoming tangible.

Taking 6G as an example, as 5G enters the commercial phase, 6G is gradually becoming the focus of global technological innovation. At present, regions in China are conducting 6G-related technological trials in an orderly manner. Hubei Province has established a new generation mobile communication engineering research center (6G or B6G) under Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The relevant research team has made a series of breakthrough achievements in such areas as mobile video transmission, low-orbit satellite communication networks, multi-scenario coverage, and large-scale intelligent wireless communication systems.
In addition, Jiangsu province is developing quantum technologies, Zhejiang is developing neuromorphic intelligence, Beijing is building satellite communication systems, while Sichuan is expanding the use of computing infrastructure.
In recent years, many regions have issued a series of policies to support the development of future industries. Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, has been strengthening the innovative role of companies and institutions in the field of future industries. It recently established a robot manufacturing company with an investment of 200 million yuan (about 27.6 million US dollars) and an annual production capacity of 1,000 humanoid and wheeled robots.
