As part of the State visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Tajikistan, a meeting was held between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin and the Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakit Sidikov, the press service of the Tajik department reported.
As Zavqizoda Z.A. noted, thanks to the consistent and pragmatic policies of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, relations between the two countries have reached a new level, which has created favorable conditions for intensifying bilateral cooperation in the economic and trade spheres.
The parties discussed the current state of economic ties and expressed their desire to further strengthen them. Particular attention was paid to the development of a Roadmap to increase the volume of mutual trade and bring the trade turnover to 500 million US dollars in the medium term.
The Roadmap is planned to include measures to stimulate the export and import of popular goods, simplify trade procedures, ensure efficient logistics and transit, develop e-commerce, digitalize processes, and actively use existing economic and trade corridors.
Following the talks, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue active and mutually beneficial cooperation aimed at expanding the economic potential and strengthening good-neighborly relations between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
