An Agreement on International and Foreign Economic Cooperation was signed between the executive authorities of the Khatlon Region of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Leningrad Region of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the press service of the Chairman of the Khatlon Region.
The document was signed during the official visit of the Khatlon Region delegation to St. Petersburg, which took place from June 21 to 24. The delegation was headed by the Chairman of the Region, Davlatali Said.
A meeting of the Khatlon Region delegation with Governor Alexander Drozdenko took place in the building of the Leningrad Region Government. During the negotiations, the parties discussed priority areas of cooperation and confirmed their mutual interest in developing interregional cooperation.
Following the meeting, an Agreement was signed, which provides for the development of partnership in the trade, economic, scientific, technical and socio-cultural spheres. The document covers a wide range of areas, including industry, trade, investment, energy, energy saving, construction, transport, housing and communal services, agriculture, digitalization, support for small and medium-sized businesses, education, healthcare, culture, sports, tourism, and innovation.
The parties noted that the implementation of the provisions of the Agreement will contribute to the deepening of humanitarian and business ties between the regions, strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of Tajikistan and Russia.
The signing of this agreement was an important step in expanding cooperation between the regions of the two countries, aimed at sustainable development, exchange of experience and joint implementation of promising projects.
