Several villages in the Turkestan region have received "non-alcoholic" status, Tengrinews.kz reports with reference to Polisia.kz.
"Already 66 villages in the region have voluntarily given up alcohol. Recently, the villages of Zagambar, Algabas and Tagayna in the Tolebi district joined them," the report says.
According to villagers, giving up alcohol has improved public order and reduced the level of offenses and crimes to zero.
"The experience of these villages proves that a healthy lifestyle is the path to a safe and bright future," the statement says.
Let us recall that in the North Kazakhstan region, 13 villages have already completely refused to consume and sell alcoholic beverages. Also, 33 villages in western Kazakhstan have declared "dry law". They do not drink and do not lock their doors at night in the native village of Aliya Moldagulova.
In addition, residents of the village of Dalabai in the Akmola region also voluntarily decided that alcohol would not be sold in their village.
