The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, on Thursday took part in the ceremonial presentation of the children's and youth orchestra of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. The event took place on the stage of the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Sadriddin Aini. This was reported by the press service of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
As reported by the press service of the head of state, works by Tajik and foreign composers were performed as part of the festive concert program. Students of the Akhmad Bobokulov College of Arts, the Ziyodullo Shakhidi Republican Specialized Music Boarding School, and the Miratullo Atoev Boarding School of Arts took part in the performances.
The first concert of young performers featured musical works by Mozart, Beethoven, Kambiz Muzhdakhi, as well as Tajik composers – Farhod Zikir, Ibodullo Mashrab, Saidkul Bilolov, Amirbek Musozoda and others. Poems by Tajik poets Muhammad Goib, Nizom Kosim, Jamoliddin Karimzoda and Davroni Davlat were also performed. The performances of young musicians were met with applause from the audience.
The Children's and Youth Symphony Orchestra, comprising 78 talented children and teenagers, was established on February 7, 2024, on the initiative of President Emomali Rahmon. The orchestra operates under the State Symphony Orchestra of the Executive Office of the President as a personnel reserve for the Academy of Arts.
The State Symphony Orchestra, in turn, was established in August 2016, also on the initiative of the head of state. Today, its composition includes more than 127 professional musicians – graduates of leading musical educational institutions of the country and abroad.
Most of the participants of the children's and youth orchestra are laureates of the republican competitions "Tajikistan – My Beloved Homeland" and "The Radiance of Dawn – Book of Wisdom".
The President of Tajikistan highly praised the skills of young performers and expressed confidence that the initiative to create such an orchestra would be an important contribution to the development of musical art in the country. During a conversation with cultural figures, he gave a number of instructions on the selection and training of young talents, as well as strengthening the material and technical base of the cultural sphere.
The Symphony Orchestra of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan is equipped with modern musical instruments and has a separate building, reconstructed in accordance with the creative tasks of the team. Since 2018, the building has been officially put into operation.
The orchestra’s team regularly presents the musical art of Tajikistan not only on the domestic stage, but also abroad – in Russia, Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
