A woman previously brought to administrative responsibility for fortune telling has been detained again in the capital of Tajikistan. According to the Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs, a criminal case has been opened against Yuldasheva Jamila on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 240 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan (“Engaging in Prohibited Activities”).
According to the agency, Yuldasheva had previously been detained by police officers and brought to administrative responsibility for a similar offense in accordance with Article 482 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Tajikistan. Despite this, the woman did not stop her illegal activities.
During the operational activities, officers of the police department No. 2 of the Firdavsi district detained Yuldasheva again. It was established that she continued to provide fortune telling services, receiving citizens in a home environment that did not correspond to social and moral norms.
"Considering the repeated nature of the offense and the presence of sufficient evidence, a criminal case has been opened against citizen Yuldasheva. The investigative bodies are currently conducting an investigation," the press service of the capital's UMVD reported.
Law enforcement agencies remind that witchcraft, fortune telling and other forms of occult practices violate the country's legislation and entail administrative or criminal liability.
