The premiere of the ballet "Melting Beauty" to the music of People's Artist of Tajikistan Tolibkhon Shakhidi will take place on June 4 at 18:00 on the stage of the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Sadriddin Aini in Dushanbe.
As reported to Avesta.tj by the theater's press service, the production is inspired by the initiative of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to save glaciers. It was at the suggestion of the Tajik leader that the UN General Assembly declared 2025 the International Year of Glacier Conservation.
"The Melting Beauty ballet is an artistic interpretation of climate change through music and dance. The plot is based on environmental themes intertwined with images of national mythology, poetry and ancient legends," the theater clarified.
The author of the libretto was the People's Poet of Tajikistan Nizom Kosim. Creative figures from different countries took part in the creation of the performance. The director and choreographer was the Honored Artist of Russia Sergey Rainik, the costume designer was Valery Kungurov (Germany), the lighting designer was Simon David (Belarus).
The production designer is Jamshed Kholikov, the videographer is Khurshed Rasulzoda.
