Children from nine CIS countries will learn the art of playing musical instruments at the XV Children's Music Academy under the patronage of Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation, People's Artist of the USSR Yuri Bashmet. The opening of the Academy took place with the participation of the state symphony orchestra "New Russia" in the Palace of Culture of the city of Novokuibyshevsk in the Samara Region, the CIS press service reports with reference to the regional Ministry of Culture.
"This year, 79 gifted children from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will study at the academy under the patronage of Yuri Bashmet," the department reported.
The training will be conducted in six specialties – piano, violin, cello, flute, trumpet and classical guitar. The best teachers of Russian and foreign conservatories will work with the children on advanced training programs. Open master classes of leading Russian musicians will be held at the venues of children's music schools and art schools of Samara and Novokuibyshevsk. The academy participants, together with the teachers, will perform concerts in different cities of the region, and the final concert will take place at the Samara Academic Opera and Ballet Theater on June 7.
"The project participants have the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities and perform together with recognized contemporary musicians. This is very important for developing their skills and confidence," emphasized Irina Kalyagina, Minister of Culture of the Samara Region.
The Children's Music Academy is a music forum for professional support of gifted children, which develops the traditions of the Russian school of playing musical instruments. Almost a thousand gifted children from Russia and countries of the near and far abroad have already become graduates of the Academy. The Music Academy has become a logical continuation of the IV music festival of Yuri Bashmet in the Samara Region.
