In the Khovaling district and in a number of cities and districts of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), information events were held aimed at raising public awareness on issues of safe labor migration and combating human trafficking.
As reported by the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan, on May 14 in Khovaling, the working group of the ministry, with the support of an employee of the Hotline on Safe Migration, held a meeting with local residents. Representatives of local authorities, chairmen of mahallas and jamoats took part in the event.





Participants were provided with explanations regarding the latest changes in the migration legislation of the Russian Federation, and were also provided with information on the areas of activity of the ministry's specialized structures. Special attention was paid to the capabilities of the Hotline, where citizens can apply for free consultations before and during travel abroad.
Those present were able to ask experts questions related to labor migration and received practical recommendations.
In addition, from May 19 to 23, the Hotline Manager visited the cities and districts of Khorog, Shugnan, Roshtkala and Ishkoshim GBAO. During the trip, working meetings were held with representatives of the regional departments of the ministry.
During the meetings, mechanisms for strengthening interdepartmental cooperation, improving legal support for migrants were discussed, and data on the number and subject matter of calls received by the Hotline were presented.
Information materials were also distributed, meetings were held with the chairmen of jamoats, at which recommendations were given on reducing migration risks and preventing cases of human trafficking.
