Law enforcement officers of the Khatlon region detained six citizens who were engaged in fortune telling, witchcraft and other actions misleading the population under the guise of "healing". This was reported by the Department of Internal Affairs of the Khatlon region.
As part of operational and preventive measures to combat superstitions and false healing, six residents of various areas of southern Tajikistan were identified and detained last week. It was established that the detainees, while in their homes, for a long time received people who were under the influence of superstitious beliefs and offered them "services" of fortune telling, witchcraft, cupping (bloodletting), as well as "rites" for the so-called "reconciliation of relations."
All procedures were carried out in unsanitary conditions, without special training, licenses and medical supervision. As noted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, such actions not only violate the law, but also pose a direct threat to the life and health of citizens.
Those detained were: – Pirnazarov Yulchi Tukhtaevich, born in 1961, resident of the Shakhritus district; – Nematova Ashuroi Berdievna, born in 1974, resident of the Kushoniyonsky district; – Kholov Tuychi Turakulovich, born in 1968, resident of the Shakhritus district; – Babayarova Bibisakhat Mamayusupovna, born in 1958, resident of Shakhritus district; – Mengimatova Tursunoy Ruzimuratovna, born in 1963, resident of the Panj district; – Rasulova Valoyat Khaidarovna, born in 1976, resident of the city of Kulyab.

Administrative protocols were drawn up against all individuals in accordance with Article 482 of the Code of the Republic of Tajikistan on Administrative Offenses (engaging in prohibited activities).
The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that superstition and pseudo-treatment undermine public trust in the healthcare system and hinder the scientific and social development of society.
